News! News! News!
WOW! Talk about energy, excitement and all out final preperations at Team Stinga Racing of late. With the world championships only a couple of weeks away and the "classic" debut of the brand new TSR two-up team at the Hawkesbury 120, there is a real buzz brewing about "stinga"! First of all, the team is expecting to have some new supporter shirts by the time we get to Moreton Bay, not to mention, supporters should keep an eye out in Qld for a well known member of TSR to be sporting a new look!
The Hawkesbury 120 is in the sights though before the bags are packed for the sunny state and this year, marks the biggest shift of focus at TSR in many years. Jack Houston and Ben Hackett are making the step from F2 into U/19's, which may not sound like much, but to go from skiing behind a 300 HP outboard to a 1500 HP (? or more - who really knows) twin turbo PFM V8 that won superclass in this event last year is a step in anyone's book. The only similarity will be looking at the back of the Force hull as the F21s "Stinga" will be the weapon of choice for the river classics. Luckily Ben & Jack have had plenty of prior experience with these sorts of machines, not to mention the class leading performances with Brent Wisemantle & Andrew Fyfe at Team 50 during their time in F2. To be honest, what a shame to disturb such a good team. Progression, however must provail and it was only a matter of time before these two "kids" looped their ropes on the back of "stinga" and said "lets go!"
I'm sure the H120 will be exciting for anyone along the river to catch a glimpse of these two young men as they tear up their home track between Windsor and Wisemans Ferry! TSR are away 28th on Sunday so I imagine the priority will be to negotiate the course with precision and saftey whilst, obviously, aiming to make a few passes and place the team in an advantagous position. The rest will take care of itself.
Looking past the H120 for just a moment, Team Stingfa Racing is excited to announce that our friends at Winnebago Australia have kindly and proudly supplied a motorhome for the team to utilise in Queensland. We appreciate the commitment of support and thank Winnegbago for their involvement with Team Stinga Racing. This will ensure the team are well prepared, rested and ready to go each and every day in Moreton Bay. Every advantage counts when the prize is a world championship and the Winebago will be well appreciated.
Sooo, it will not be long then, until the team, boats, the Sprinter & the Winnebago are getting packed up for and ready for the drive to Queensland. The entire crew can't wait! Keep an eye on the official TSR twitter account @TSR70 for up to the minute updates over the coming weeks. We also have a couple of fresh videos on the Stinga70 YouTube channel worh a quick look and another in the making.
But, first, don't forget to have a cheer, say Hi to the team and grab a photo on Sunday in Windsor at the Hawkesbury 120. See You there!
